This is a transcript of a series of email messages sent back and forth between me and one of our preferred customer/friends. It humorously documents a little run-in we had with a courier company that we, for obvious reasons, probably won't be dealing with again. Sure, I'll take some of the blame; I never ship without insurance, but there were special circumstances, and damn, I thought the insurance was for damage more than the courier stealing your stuff! The exchange actually ends on a relatively pleasant (while still unsatisfactory) note, with Purolator offering us $100 of the $1000 they lost/stole, even though the package was automatically insured for only a few dollars. This, of course, after a series of bills and even collection notices were sent to us requesting payment for shipping this order that was, in fact, stolen by some ass working for Purolator (and after Purolator customer service getting tons of calls from me, and our customer, letting them know what happened).

That sounds wicked so I want to add a few things if that is cool. I am just going to deposit the money for the other items as well and hopefully it all goes well. I don't mind paying half for the shipping at all if it makes it here overniht. I recommend using puralator because they are always here before 12:00 the next day. there will be $960 in your account first thing tomorow morning before twelve your time. Could you email me tomorow when you get it sent off so I know it's gone and with the tracking number.

A few emails (and phone calls to Purolator during which they eventually inform James that they've "lost" the package and it seems to have been put on a truck instead of a plane, and it'll get there very soon, don't worry, bla bla bla) later...

Great. No, for once I did not insure the package. I always do, but didn't this time, cause it woulda cost $40 or $50 and I've never had a problem before and I didn't want to ask you to share such a high shipping cost.... FUCK! I hate purolator, those bastards. Looks like they screwed me for $1000. Did they give us any reasonable options?
